Skin treatment in Indore — medical, not cosmetic

Acne, pigmentation, psoriasis, eczema, vitiligo, allergies and infections are medical conditions. They need a diagnosis, a prescription and a follow-up plan — not a facial. Dr. Abhishek Malviya, MBBS, MD (Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy), treats the full range of skin disease at Radiant Skin, Hair & Laser Clinic, Pipliyahana, Indore.

  • MD – Dermatology (DVL)

Why a skin clinic is not the same as a dermatologist

Indore has no shortage of skin clinics. Most are staffed by cosmetologists or therapists running protocol-based treatments — a peel, a facial, a laser setting — without the training to diagnose what is actually wrong. That distinction matters most in exactly the cases where people are least likely to notice it.

A ring-shaped patch treated as eczema with a steroid cream will spread and become harder to cure if it is actually a fungal infection. Melasma treated with an aggressive peel will darken. Acne treated with facials while the underlying hormonal driver goes unaddressed will keep returning and keep scarring. A dermatologist's job is to tell these apart before treating them — with examination, dermoscopy, a KOH mount, a patch test or blood work as needed.

Every condition below is diagnosed and treated by Dr. Malviya personally. Where a procedure helps, it is performed at the clinic; where medicine is the answer, that is what you leave with.

Acne & Pimples

acne treatment in Indore

Acne is driven by oil production, abnormal shedding of skin cells, bacteria and inflammation — and in many adult women, by hormones. Treatment is matched to the type and grade: comedonal, inflammatory, nodulocystic or hormonal. That may mean topical retinoids, antibiotics for a defined course, hormonal therapy, or isotretinoin in severe or scarring disease, alongside peels where appropriate. Most patients see clear improvement within eight to twelve weeks, after which attention shifts to the marks left behind.

Acne Scars

acne scar treatment in Indore

Scar type determines treatment, and most patients have more than one type. Ice-pick scars need TCA CROSS or punch techniques; boxcar and rolling scars respond to microneedling, MNRF and subcision; post-inflammatory marks are pigment, not scarring, and clear with peels and topical therapy. Active acne is controlled first — resurfacing skin that is still breaking out produces new scars. A realistic course runs four to six sessions with gradual, cumulative improvement.

Pigmentation

pigmentation treatment in Indore

Dark patches have several distinct causes: sun-induced tanning, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation after acne or injury, melasma, periorbital pigmentation and drug-induced changes. Each behaves differently and responds to a different combination of prescription topical therapy, chemical peels and pigment-specific lasers. Diagnosis — including Wood's lamp or dermoscopy to judge whether the pigment sits in the epidermis or deeper — decides the plan and the realistic timeline.

Melasma

melasma treatment in Indore

Melasma is the symmetrical brown patching across the cheeks, forehead and upper lip that darkens with sun, heat and hormonal change. It is chronic and relapsing, which means the goal is long-term control rather than a cure — and aggressive treatment makes it worse. Management combines strict photoprotection, prescription depigmenting agents, gentle peels and low-fluence laser toning in selected cases, with maintenance to prevent rebound.

Psoriasis

psoriasis treatment in Indore

Psoriasis is an immune-mediated condition producing well-defined red plaques with silvery scale, commonly on elbows, knees, scalp and lower back, and sometimes affecting nails and joints. It is lifelong but controllable. Treatment is matched to severity: topicals and vitamin D analogues for limited disease, phototherapy for wider involvement, and systemic or biologic therapy for severe or joint-involving disease, with monitoring.

Eczema

eczema treatment in Indore

Atopic dermatitis is a barrier and immune problem, not an infection or an allergy to one food. Treatment works on three fronts: repairing the barrier with the right emollient used often enough, controlling inflammation during flares with appropriately chosen topical therapy, and identifying triggers — soaps, fabrics, heat, dust. Steroid-sparing options are used for children and for sensitive areas. Properly managed, flares become shorter and further apart.

Skin Allergy & Urticaria

skin allergy treatment in Indore

Urticaria — raised, intensely itchy wheals that come and go within hours — is common and often has no identifiable external trigger. Acute cases settle in weeks; chronic urticaria lasting over six weeks needs a structured approach with antihistamine titration and, in resistant cases, further therapy. Contact allergy to cosmetics, metals or topical medicines is a different problem, diagnosed with patch testing rather than blood panels.

Vitiligo

vitiligo treatment in Indore

Vitiligo is loss of pigment cells producing sharply defined white patches. It is not contagious and not caused by diet. Treatment aims to stop progression and stimulate repigmentation: topical immunomodulators, phototherapy (NB-UVB) which remains the mainstay for widespread disease, and surgical options for stable segmental patches. Results depend on site, duration and stability — face and neck respond best, hands and lips least.

Fungal & Skin Infection

fungal infection treatment in Indore

Recurrent ringworm has become a genuine public health problem in India, largely because over-the-counter steroid-antifungal combination creams suppress the rash, alter its appearance and make the fungus harder to kill. Correct management means confirming the diagnosis, stopping the steroid, prescribing an adequate dose for an adequate duration — usually far longer than patients expect — and treating the household and clothing to prevent reinfection.

  • Full-course therapy

Keloid & Milia

keloid treatment in Indore

Keloids are scars that grow beyond the original wound, commonly on the chest, shoulders, earlobes after piercing, and jawline after acne. They do not resolve on their own, and simple excision alone makes them recur larger. Treatment uses intralesional steroid injections at intervals, often combined with other intralesional agents, cryotherapy or laser, over several months. Milia — small firm white bumps — are removed in a single sitting.

Stretch Marks

stretch marks treatment in Indore

Stretch marks are dermal scars from rapid stretching during growth spurts, pregnancy, weight change or bodybuilding. Red or purple marks are recent and respond considerably better than old white ones, which is why early treatment matters. Microneedling and MNRF, fractional laser and prescription topicals improve texture and colour over several sessions. Complete disappearance is not an achievable outcome, and any clinic promising it is overselling.

Dark Circles

dark circles treatment in Indore

Under-eye darkness has three distinct causes and most people have a mix: pigmentation, hollowing that casts a shadow, and thin skin showing the vessels beneath. Treatment only works when the right cause is targeted — pigment responds to topicals and gentle peels, hollowing to hyaluronic-acid filler, vascular darkness to laser or nothing at all. Sleep and screens are rarely the whole story, though they do not help.

Child Skin Specialist

child skin specialist in Indore

Children's skin is not adult skin at a smaller dose. Infantile eczema, diaper rash, molluscum contagiosum, warts, birthmarks, fungal infections and childhood psoriasis all need age-appropriate strengths and formulations, and parents need a routine they can actually follow at home. Dr. Malviya treats paediatric skin conditions with steroid-sparing plans wherever possible, and explains what is normal, what will resolve on its own, and what needs treating now.

What a skin consultation involves

The same structure applies whether you come with acne, a rash or a pigmentation concern.

Step 1

History and examination

How long, what has been applied, what has already been tried, family history, medication. Then examination of the whole affected area — not just the patch you point at — with dermoscopy where it helps.

Step 2

Test where the diagnosis is not certain

A KOH mount for suspected fungal disease, patch testing for contact allergy, blood work for recurring or resistant conditions, biopsy in rare cases. Guessing is how conditions become chronic.

Step 3

Written plan with a timeline

What to apply, when, for how long, what to stop, and when to come back. You are told what improvement to expect by which week, so you can judge whether it is working.

FAQ

Questions patients ask about skin treatment

Ask on WhatsApp
Which is the best skin clinic in Indore?

Judge a skin clinic on who runs it. A dermatologist holds a postgraduate MD or DNB in dermatology; many clinics are run by cosmetologists or technicians without that training. At Radiant, every patient is seen, diagnosed and treated by Dr. Abhishek Malviya, MD (DVL), who has 15+ years of experience and is listed among Indore's top three dermatologists by ThreeBestRated.

How soon will I see results from skin treatment?

It depends on the condition. Acne clears substantially in 8–12 weeks. Pigmentation shows change at 6–8 weeks and continues improving for months. Fungal infections resolve in 2–6 weeks with full-course therapy. Psoriasis, eczema and vitiligo are managed long-term rather than cured, with flares becoming shorter and less frequent.

Do I need tests for a skin problem?

Not always. Many conditions are diagnosed on examination alone. Tests are ordered where the diagnosis is uncertain or the condition is recurring: a KOH mount for suspected fungal infection, patch testing for contact allergy, blood work for chronic urticaria or unexplained hair and skin changes.

Are steroid creams safe?

Topical steroids are effective and safe when the right strength is prescribed for the right condition for a defined period. The harm comes from over-the-counter steroid-antifungal combination creams used long-term on undiagnosed rashes, which thin the skin and make fungal infections far harder to treat. Never use a steroid cream on a rash that has not been diagnosed.

Do you treat children's skin problems?

Yes. Eczema, diaper rash, molluscum, warts, birthmarks, fungal infections and childhood psoriasis are treated with age-appropriate therapy and steroid-sparing plans where possible. See the child skin specialist page.

How much does skin treatment cost in Indore?

A consultation carries a fixed fee, adjusted against a procedure booked within 30 days. Medical treatment is then the cost of the prescription. Procedures such as peels, microneedling and laser are priced per session with package rates. You get the full cost in writing before anything begins.

Not sure which treatment you need?

Book a consultation. Dr. Malviya diagnoses first and recommends only what will work for you.
